Sheikh Sahab al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah

Sovereign: Sheikh Sahab al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, 15th Emir of the State of Kuwait (Kuwait City, June 16th, 1929).

Son of Sheikh Ahmad I al-Jaber al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait (1885-1950) and Munira al-Ayyar of Jahra.

Succeeds his relative Sheikh Saeed al-Abdullah al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait (1929-2008), who became emir on 15 January 2006 upon the death of his cousin Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah, and had to abdicate on 24 January 2006 on the grounds of ill health. Sheikh Sabah acted as interim emir from 24 to 29 January 2006.

Religion: Islam.

Married: Sheikha Fatuwah bint Salman al-Sabah (-1990).

Children:
Nasser (1948). Married first in 1969 Sheikha Hussa bint Sabah al-Salim al-Sabah; married second Sheikha Nuria bint Ahmad al-Sabah. By his second wife he has: Dana (* 1971), Abdullah (1976), Bibi (* 1978) Sabah (1979), Fahad and Futooh.
