Thomas Stein, Managing Director Saudi Arabia, Perma-Pipe Inc. and Co-Founder, Cayan Ventures
Thomas Stein is a Co-Founder and Partner in Cayan Ventures, a venture development and advisory firm focused on originating, developing, structuring, investing in and operating industrial manufacturing and services ventures across the GCC and broader MENA region. Cayan Ventures seeks to develop opportunities that present a mix of demand and competitiveness across the value chains or sectors that are most relevant to the region.
Mr. Stein has eighteen years of management consulting, business development and industry experience across oil and gas, chemicals and heavy manufacturing sectors. Most recently he was Managing Director for Perma-Pipe Saudi Arabia where he established a Greenfield manufacturing facility for this Nasdaq listed American manufacturing firm and held responsibility for the operations and the P&L. Mr. Stein remains active with Perma-Pipe as Board Director. Prior to Perma-Pipe, he was a management consultant with A. T. Kearney and Charles River and Associates focused on energy, industrial and public sector practices. Mr. Stein was also an advisor on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s economic development and diversification strategy in addition to a number of private sector clients across a range of industries. His functional consulting experience includes corporate and business unit strategy, market entry strategy, acquisition due diligence and manufacturing turnarounds, and operational and asset effectiveness. Prior to consulting, Thomas held engineering and internal consulting positions in Odessa and Houston, Texas with Holloman Corporation and Halliburton Company.
Mr. Stein has a B.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and an MBA from Rice University.
