President, Middle East, Trust Company of the West
Stephen McDonald is President of Trust Company of the West (TCW) Middle East Group and Executive Vice President of TCW. His background in finance and the Middle East is extensive with a particular focus on Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Oman.
Prior to working with TCW, Mr. McDonald started his career serving in the U.S. Coast Guard before moving to Citibank in 1963. After several positions at Citibank, he was named Deputy Finance Administrator and Commissioner of the Treasury for the City of New York in 1970. Following his time in New York, Mr. McDonald served as Senior Vice President with Crocker Bank in Los Angeles before joining TCW as Managing Director in 1983. He is very active in non-profit organizations, having previously served as Chairman of the Century Housing Corporation of Los Angeles and on the Boards of TCW Asset Management Company, Middlebury College, Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, the Good Shepherd Center, and Meridian House, among others.
Mr. McDonald holds a B.A. in Government from Georgetown University.
