Rachid Sayouty, Director, Los Angeles Export Assistance Center, U.S. Department of Commerce
Rachid Sayouty is the Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center in Downtown Los Angeles. In this capacity, Rachid manages a staff of International trade Specialists and a Commercial Officer who assist small and medium companies in Los Angeles develop a successful export plan, strengthen their international presence and achieve export sales.
During his tenure, Rachid served on several overseas assignments as acting Senior Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassies in Lisbon, Portugal, Casablanca, Morocco and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and supported U.S. companies at trade shows in the US and abroad.
Prior to joining the Commercial Service, Rachid worked as a Senior International Trade Manager with the LA TRADE Export Assistance Program at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce where he managed the operation of the World Trade Week program and led delegations of small California companies on trade missions to Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.
Rachid is a graduate of the U.S. Department of Commerce Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) which develops high performing leaders within the US Department of Commerce to execute the President’s Management Agenda. In addition, Rachid has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Francis College in New York and an MBA in international marketing from California State University, Northridge.
Rachid is a member of the LA Chamber of Commerce World Trade Week Committee and serves as Executive Secretary for the Southern California Regional District Export Council (SCRDEC).
