Eng. Mohamed Al-Mady
U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council and Vice Chairman and CEO, SABIC
Eng. Mohamed Al-Mady has been Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) since July 1998. He joined SABIC in 1976, and since then has held various key positions within the company.
Delivering numerous keynote speeches and specialized work papers at various industrial and economic conferences, Eng. Al-Mady regularly represents SABIC in the press and media. He has received many awards, including the Middle East CEO Awards in 2005 and the International Petrochemical Heritage Award in 2009. In 2010, he was elected by Colorado Engineering and Applied Sciences College to be honored among the gifted graduates with global scientific and industrial contributions.
On March 1, 2012, Eng. Al-Mady became the Saudi Co‐Chairman of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council. Eng. Al-Mady has served on the Business Council’s Board of Directors since 1998.
Eng. Al Mady is a member of several organizations, including the International Advisory Councils for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, and Prince Mohammed bin Fahad University. He is also a Member of the National Industrial Clusters Development Program, the Supreme Council for the Armed Forces in Domestic Manufacturing, the Economic Offset Committee, and the International Business Council for the World Economic Forum.
Eng. Al-Mady is additionally Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association and Chairman and Managing Director for the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company, a member of the International Business Council for the World Economic Forum, and an Honorary Member for the Advisory Council for Meteorology and Environment Protection.
Eng. Al-Mady received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a M.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
