Dr. Ali Alzawawi
Assistant Deputy Minister for the Private Health Sector, Ministry of Health
Dr. Ali Alzawawi is Assistant Deputy Minister for the Private Health Sector within the Ministry of Health. Before his current position, Dr. Alzawawi was the Director General for Medical and Pharmaceutical Licenses in the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Alzawawi serves on numerous committees and boards dedicated to the health sector in Saudi Arabia. Currently, he is a board member of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and a member of the National Drug and Company Registration Committee in the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. In the past, he worked with the GCC Pharmaceutical Registration Committee, the Council of Arab League, and as the Head of Pharmaceutical Tenders for Unified Purchasing Program with the GCC Health Minister’s Council. Dr. Alzawawi also attended many conferences and seminars on pharmaceutical licensing and drug regulation in Arab countries and he has presented to the World Health Organization’s General Assembly. His primary research interest focuses on quality medication, pharmaceutical pricing, and licensing.
Dr. Alzawawi received his degree in Pharmacy from King Saud University. He also holds a diploma and postgraduate degree in Pharmacy and Quality Medicine.
