Dr. Ali Alhakami
General Manager, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Public Education Development Project
Dr. Ali Alhakami is General Manager of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Public Education Development Project (Tatweer) and Chief Executive Officer of Tatweer Company for Educational Services. In his current role, Dr. Alhakami leads the development of the new K-12 strategy and helps promote investment in the education sector.
Prior to joining Tatweer, Dr. Alhakami worked as General Manager for a major Saudi education company where he led the development of math and science curriculum in Saudi Arabia and other GCC education ministries. From 1999-2005, he worked at the Ministry of Education as General Manager for Assessment and Evaluation and as Assistant Deputy Minister for Educational Development. While at the Ministry, he established the General Directorate of Measurement and Evaluation and executed projects related to assessment, educational reform, and development. He also led Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 2003 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and served as National Research Coordinator for the study. Prior to that, Dr. Alhakami worked from 1991-1999 as an assistant and associate psychology professor at Imam University and served as Vice Dean of the College of Social Sciences. He has been published in leading international and Arabic journals.
Dr. Alhakami received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
